Know Your Legends - Harry MacDonald
In the annals of Canadian Scottish Games history, it will take a lot to beat Harry MacDonald. Winner of 10 National titles (nine of them in a row), old MacDonald had more than a farm - he had big throws! If you're like me, you grew up seeing his bombs on UHA TV coverage on ESPN 2. Harry was duking it out with Vierra, Sandford, Dodge, Brown, and others, on the biggest televised stage our sport has ever seen. Known for big weights for distance, MacDonald still holds the Candian light weight for distance record at 91'3", set in 1996.

I remember Mr.Stevenson telling me Harry would eat 2 Big Mac combos before a Jr. football game in high school and go out and crush the other team. He is a beast

I remember as a kid Harry dragging 3-4 guys down the field trying to tackle him playing football. :)

Harry McDonald was a regular at P-town and Celtic, his Canadian reign of dominance was contested by the other McDonald, Doug. There was a heated battle on the field with these 2 and Doug eventually suceeded Harry. There was no competition for the Canadian Championship from Doug McDonald to Greg Hadley, as far as I know the two never competed against each other for the Canadian Championship. Doug retired from the Games in his prime to become a RCMP and later a Priest.
