Before you can master the two turn in the weights for distance, you must be proficient in the one turn. Now, I’m not saying you can only throw the one turn for a long period of time before event attempting the two turn; I’m saying don’t abandon the usefulness of a one turn. For me, this drill serves multiple purposes at each of my practices: warm up, initiating the drive to the front of the box and dialing in my finish.
Start this drill with your feet in the position where you land after the entry of your first turn. I know that sounds confusing and, really, it is. I wish I could physically show you at your next practice. In the standard 9’ x 4’6” box, place your right foot near the back corner (the furthest away from the trig board). If you’re left handed, this will be your left foot, on the other side of the trig.
Start with a slightly wider than shoulder width base and create an upper body lean over your right leg. You’ll then swing the weight in front of you, and then behind you, where you will initiate the turn and throw. When the weight gets to about your right leg, start your push to the front. Now, remember a few things here.
- Your cast should be flat. Don’t let the initial cast into the turn be too high. Think of keeping that cast shoulder level.
- Your left foot should turn and open the hips towards the trig board.
- Shift your weight to your left foot as your DRIVE to the front of the trig. Your sprint is a critical part of the throw so use this time to work on syncing that up.
- Your finish with the weight should be a throw, not a scoop. If your hand is low and you’re scooping the weight up, then you’re doing it wrong. If this is the case, then you most likely started your one turn with a far too steep of an entry/cast. Think of the arm action resembling more of an across the body trajectory and less of a throwing it up over your head.
- Your left arm and side should “block” hard. A “block” is when your left side stops abruptly … actually, more like, “violently.” The left arm should go out and be brought down hard to your side. Your left leg is extremely important here, as it will stop your travel in the trig and create a kind of slingshot effect on the throw. Think of “posting” up on the left leg as you stop that left side in a violent crash.
The one turn can be a very valuable drill; one I feel you should do every time your throw the weights whether in practice or at a competition. I didn’t always feel this way, but the focused implementation of this drill into my routine was followed closely by bigger throws and consistent technique. It’s now become such a part of my throws that I won’t neglect doing them at any practice.

I’m a 37-year-old marketing consultant from Berlin, and in 2024, I invested 4.8 BTC (about €300,600) into what I believed was a legitimate opportunity through HyperVerse. It looked promising at first daily returns, active communication but within months, the platform collapsed. My Bitcoin was gone, and I realized too late it was a Ponzi scheme.
Refusing to accept the loss, I contacted Morphohack Cyber Service. Their team of crypto recovery experts carefully analyzed my case, tracked the stolen funds using blockchain forensics, and communicated with me every step of the way. After nearly four months, they recovered 3.9 BTC, around €366,200 (at the time of recovery) into a secure wallet.
While I didn’t recover everything, I got back more than I expected. If you’ve been scammed in crypto, I highly recommend Morphohack. Their professionalism and results gave me a second chance.

I am a developer, and coding is my world. But when it comes to, say, the “life” part of life skills? Not so much. After a grueling 72-hour coding marathon, fueled by nothing but caffeine and questionable decisions, I made a mistake I now regret on a cosmic level: I spilled coffee on my external hard drive, the very drive that stored access to my digital wallet, holding a significant sum. At first, I told myself it wasn’t that bad; surely a little splash wouldn’t be a big deal, right? With confidence in my tech skills, I turned to the internet for answers. One search result boldly asked: “Can you dry a hard drive in the microwave?” Spoiler alert: absolutely not. Don’t try this under any circumstance. I’m lucky I didn’t end up with melted plastic or worse. After my solo data recovery efforts failed catastrophically, panic set in. This wasn’t just lost files, this was years of effort, wiped in a moment. That’s when I found Digital Resolution Services. Desperate and admittedly a bit embarrassed, I reached out, hoping for a miracle. From the moment they answered, I could tell I was in capable hands. The team was calm, professional, and reassuring, never once mocking my questionable DIY methods (which, looking back, I probably deserved). Instead, they got straight to work, applying specialized tools and expertise to my situation. The process wasn’t easy. It involved long nights, constant updates, and a rollercoaster of emotions. But Digital Resolution Services never gave up. They stayed committed, persistent, and focused every step of the way. When they finally restored access to my wallet, I was overwhelmed with relief not just because the funds were safe, but because I could finally sleep without stress. That experience taught me something valuable: sometimes, it’s not about being the expert in everything, it’s about knowing when to trust the right ones. Now, I keep my coffee and hard drive far apart. And every time I take a sip of that morning brew, I remember: if your data matters, don’t gamble, reach out to professionals like Digital Resolution Services.
